Lucky Paws, located in Coronado Shopping Center, is a unique, outreach adoption venue for Albuquerque’s Animal Welfare Department.  It finds homes for overlooked dogs, cats, house rabbits, birds and exotics, disabled and challenged pets, as well as fostered litters of puppies and kittens which otherwise crowd the shelters.  In an area where too many pets are euthanized, we need this wonderful adoption center.

   Lucky Paws is included in the current budget (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013) and  the City’s current lease with Coronado goes to 2014.  Great news.  But this budget doesn’t include costs of maintenance and repairs.

    Because much needs to be done to upgrade the facility, Save Lucky Paws will continue its fund raising activities to pay for the maintenance and to build an‘emergency’ fund.  We all hope for the most positive of outcomes, but caution and continued support is necessary.

   Save Lucky Paws is a non-profit corporation registered with the NM Attorney General’s Office and the NM PRC and has been given 501c(3) status by the IRS.  We are dedicated to raising the funds to keep this adoption center open and saving more lives.
